Vransko
lake is situated in Ravni Kotari, northeast of Pakoštane. The
water is supplied by the Škorobić brook and several springs and
flows beneath the ground. The north-eastern shore of the lake is
forested and here lies the highest summit in Ravni Kotari,
Standarac (305m). The lake is rich in fish and today it is one of
the famoust fishing grounds known all over the world. Fishing can
be individual or organized.
The
area offers fine wading birds hunting opportunities. The area
comprising 30 hectares is designated as a special ornithological
reserve.
The
easiest access to the lake is from the main road at Pakoštane or
from Prošika. |
